NFL star Sergio Brown is missing after his mother was found dead by homicide in a creek near her home.

Relatives of Myrtle and Sergio have since confirmed they couldn’t reach either party since Friday and that they were then reported missing on early Saturday, just hours before the mother was found dead.
As of this writing, Sergio is still missing.
“We’re going to find out what happened because it’s not normal for my sister to not answer her phone, not to respond to text messages. People have been reaching out to her since Friday,”
“We’re going to find out what happened because it’s not normal for my sister to not answer her phone, not to respond to text messages,” Myrtle’s sister, Sheila Simmons, said in an interview with WGN TV.
“People have been reaching out to her since Friday. No one was able to reach her. Now, I got the call this morning saying that she’s missing, so immediately I came out here and find out my sister is dead.”
Simmons further revealed that things were “out of the ordinary” when she paid a visit to Myrtle’s home on Saturday morning when the pair were reported missing.
According to the reports, the 35-year-old athlete and his mother were set to attend a family reunion in Mississippi but they never showed up, prompting concerned relatives to contact the police.
As of Sunday, the family were yet unable to contact Sergio and the search continues.
