‘The Scariest, Most Intimidating Thing For Anybody Talking About S*xual Violence Is NOT Being Believed,’ Amber Heard Says


Amber Heard, 36, said that testifying against her ex-husband Johnny Depp and describing her alleged assault as ‘the scariest, most intimidating thing’.

The Aquaman star told Savannah Guthrie of NBC said she was left feeling ‘terrified’ of telling her side of the story.

“I know the scariest, most intimidating thing for anybody talking about sexual violence is not being believed, being called a liar, or being humiliated,” she said.

Heard said that she had been wounded by the ‘vitriol’ and ‘hate’ thrown at her but insisted that she didn’t regret bringing the case.

“As silly as it is to say this out loud, my goal is – I just want people to see me as a human being.”

During the interview with NBC’s Dateline, Heard repeated her allegations against Depp.

But shortly before the interview was aired, her legal team said that they were unrepentant.

A spokesperson told Daily Mail: “If Mr Depp or his team have a problem with this, we recommend that Johnny himself sit down with Savannah Guthrie for an hour and answer all her questions.”

Heard also reveals the piece of evidence that could have changed the verdict by releasing a ‘binder full’ of notes taken by her therapist detailing instances when Depp allegedly ‘hit her, threw her against a wall, and threatened to kill her.’

But the judge had dismissed the notes as ‘hearsay’ and barred her team from using the notes as evidence.

The actress has now revealed ‘years’ worth’ of notes dating back to 2011 “from the very beginning of her relationship.”

The therapist’s notes contain descriptions of violence dating back to January 2012, when the actress described how Depp “hit her, threw her on the floor.”

Heard was ordered to pay the Pirates of the Caribbean star $10 million in compensatory damages and $5 million in punitive damages, but the latter was reduced to $350,000 per Virginia law.

Because was awarded $2 million in compensatory damages, Depp walked away from the trial with the actress owing him $8.35 million.
