Two sisters aged 15 and 16 were assaulted by Russian soldiers in a small village where women have decided to cut their hair off to ‘be less attractive’ to Putin’s troops.
The small village of Ivankiv, only 50 miles northwest of Kyiv, was now reconnected to the rest of the war-torn country. However, terrifying stories of the alleged war crimes have emerged, including claims that two teenage sisters were assaulted by the invaders.
Town’s deputy mayor Maryna Beschastna claimed that girls cut their hair after Russian troops pulled women by their hair to be assaulted.
It was on March 31 when Ivankiv was finally liberated after it fell into the hands of Putin’s troops on February 27.
Local resident Elena Skoropad told ITV News that her son, 12, was killed by shrapnel from Russian cluster munitions.
Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelensky has accused Putin’s soldiers of committing ‘genocide’ and has demanded a Nuremberg-style war crimes tribunal after he showed horrifying pictures of charred bodies, mass graves and civilians shot dead in Bucha, Mariupol, and Irpin to the UN.
Putin has denied the allegations and claimed the photos of civilians were ‘fake news’ and ‘a crude forgery’ staged by Ukrainian troops themselves.
Meanwhile, entire residential apartment blocks in the town of Borodyanka got hit by Russian rockets. One man was found severely tortured in a garden, with his head bound in plastic.
Charred body parts were left scattered over the streets of Bucha for days and men under 50 were stripped naked, tied up and executed by Russian troops, horrified civilians have shared.
But the Kremlin has denied civilian killings, claiming the deaths occurred after Russian troops pulled out.
