A new report suggests that up to 40,000 Russian troops were either killed or otherwise incapacitated during the invasion of Ukraine.
A month after Putin launched a full-scale attack on Ukraine and its sovereignty, Russian troops are beginning to suffer from low morale due to high casualties, frostbite, lack of provisions, and little to no progress in achieving their goal.
Now, a fresh NATO report reveals that some 7,000 – 15,000 Russian soldiers were already killed in Ukraine in the last four weeks as a result of Putin’s war.
The NATO official presenting the report also claimed that the total number of incapacitated Russian troops lies somewhere between 30,000 – 40,000 if wounded soldiers and prisoners of war are taken into account.
As military experts have since pointed out, Russia might be forced to pull out of Ukraine if the number of incapacitated soldiers deployed to Ukraine rises to more than 30 percent or around 60,000 troops.
Meanwhile, verified reports indicate that Russia has lost at least five top generals since the invasion began.
While Putin continues to bomb and besiege cities like Kyiv and Mariupol, Ukrainian forces have taken the initiative to recapture Kherson, one of the few major Ukrainian cities that have been occupied by Russian troops.
Western experts have also warned that Putin might try to focus the majority of his deployed forces on the East of the country in the following days in a bid to surround Ukrainian troops and force them to surrender.
