Russian missiles have pounded a renowned shopping complex in Ukraine recently.
According to reports from local media outlets, the recent Kremlin strike was known to have targeted a giant shopping mall that is known to be crowded with civilians. The incident is believed to have taken place in the Kremenchuk city of Ukraine, leading to mass casualties.
Ukraine’s President Zelensky mentioned how 1000 civilians were present inside the building during that time and therefore he feared that the number of victims that would have been affected is incredibly large.
“It is literally impossible to say how many were injured there. But we are fearing for the worse as they have hit an area known to be crowded with innocent civilians”- the leader continued.
At the moment, the giant complex is said to be engulfed in flames, right after the barbaric attack took center stage during the afternoon hours on Monday.
The incident is being deemed to be one of the worst by Putin and his men as this area was only populated with innocent shoppers and civilians and is always known to be densely populated.
Missiles were seen raining down from above the building during the afternoon hours.
Horrifying footage featured panicked survivors who tried to get out of the area in desperation and run for cover while many others remained stuck inside.
Meanwhile, huge plumes of black-colored smoke soon filled the air, making the entire process of rescue and retrieval all the more difficult.
“It is useless if we think we can hope for decency and humanity from a place like Russia”- President Zelensky continued.
On the other hand, the city’s mayor revealed how the military strike resulted in a number of deaths and injuries but he again failed to give any figures as rescue operations are currently taking place.
The city is known to have a population of more than 217,000, right before Russia invaded. And it is also known to house the country’s largest oil refinery too.
