Terrifying reports are coming in from Heathrow International Airport where two planes have reportedly collided.
According to local media outlets, two passenger planes collided with each other this evening at Heathrow, and that sparked a widespread emergency response.
The incident took place between the jets while they were taxiing. Emergency services were seen rushing to the incident, sparking fear and chaos among passengers aboard those respective flights.
One passenger onboard revealed how there was no apparent danger. But it was definitely a scary situation to be in during the nighttime hours.
“We are waiting for our captain to make an announcement. There is no chance whatsoever regarding this flight taking off. They told us there has been a technical fault and that’s why we need to head back to the gate”- one passenger aboard the flight can be heard stating.
The planes involved were revealed to be Korean Air 777 and an Icelandair 767. One eyewitness did confirm how it was not a full-blown collision and so far, no injuries have been reported.
The Korean Air flight was scheduled to leave London and arrive in Seoul but that clearly wouldn’t be happening now as the plane was forced to return back to its gate.
Others spoke about how they saw the incident take place from their videos and even managed to record videos with their smartphones. Those are now going viral on social media, with many wondering how such a busy airport with many flights could allow such an incident to occur, despite so many airport staff on the ground.
In the images that were released recently, at least five emergency crews can be seen stationed in position. But thankfully, there was no fire or reports of any injuries to passengers or crew members. However, there was evident damage done to the tails and wings of the plane that managed to scrape up against one another.
