Tragic reports coming in from Florida have explained how one woman’s trip to the beach turned into an absolute nightmare.
According to reports from media outlets, the woman was run over while sunbathing with sources adding how the accused was none other than the Sheriff’s Deputy.
The victim was identified as 23-year-old Robin Elaine Diffender who says she tried her best to make the most of the sun’s natural rays but little did she know about what was in store
The incident was said to have taken place at around 1 pm in the afternoon at the St. Pete Beach, which is known as a popular spot for plenty of locals and tourists too.
Authorities added how a deputy by the name of Todd Brien received a call from 911 while he was on patrolling duty at the pristine and sandy beach that features stunning emerald green waters.
While talking to a number of beachgoers at that time, the sheriff’s deputy reportedly was sent off to another nearby location and that’s how he ended up at that location.
“I was driving and all of a sudden, I made a sharp right turn from my steady parked position. And before I knew it, I struck her while she was lying on the sand and soaking up the sun”- the deputy added.
Deputies claim the left tire present on the front of the SUV reportedly drover against the victim’s right side. Therefore, it struck her mid to upper back region.
While her injuries were severe, she was immediately rushed to a nearby local hospital. Sources added how she was expected to survive. At the moment, there is an investigation into the horrifying incident taking place as there is no additional information being made available right now.
