Rudy Giuliani received the slap of his life after getting struck by a furious worker while campaigning at a grocery store.

While campaigning for his son, Andrew Giuliani, at a Staten Island ShopRite, the 78-year-old former mayor of New York City was slapped in the back by a 39-year-old employee of the supermarket.

Following the unexpected assault, the worker was arrested by the police and charged with second-degree assault. The identity of the employee was not immediately exposed.

While CCTV footage showing the moment Giuliani was struck in the back appears to show Trump’s former attorney getting lightly tapped on the back, the 78-year-old claimed the slap felt like he was shot.

“I come out of the men’s room and a group of people are around me, hugging me and kissing. All the sudden, I feel a shot on my back. Like somebody shot me!” Giuliani said as he recalled the Sunday ‘ordeal’ in an interview with WABC Radio.

“I feel this tremendous pain in my back, and I’m thinking, what the — I didn’t even know what it was. All of a sudden, I hear this guy say, ‘You’re a f***ing scumbag,’ then he moves away so nobody can grab him.”

The former NYC mayor added: “I went forward but luckily I didn’t fall down. Lucky I’m a 78-year-old who’s in pretty good shape, cause if I wasn’t, I’d have hit the ground and probably cracked my skull.”

Giuliani went on to insist that the disgruntled employee moved away from the group before yelling and screaming at him.

“You’re gonna kill women! You guys think you’re saving babies, but you’re gonna kill women,” the attacker screamed in a reference to the Supreme Court’s decision to overturn federal abortion rights.

Speaking of the alleged motives for the assault, Giuliani added: “The Supreme Court made a decision. You don’t go around attacking people because of it. I mean, go get it changed.”

The 78-year-old also insisted that the employee appeared to be “drunk or high” before admitting that he had “never been attacked like this” in his 50-years-long career.
