A man from Indian has allegedly been accused of murdering his female roommate after he chose to spike her drinks using wiper fluid.
The suspect was recently identified as Thomas Holifield who made use of the harsh wiper fluid that’s designed to clean windshields.
Authorities claim that the Indiana man did not like the fact that she highly disapproved of his strong drinking habits and for that reason, he went about indulging in the horrifying crime.
59-year-old Thomas Holifield was recently charged with the crime of murdering 64-year-old Pamela Keltz, who reportedly passed away on the 1st of June last year. And that’s when her postmortem results went on claiming that the cause of death was methanol poisoning, as revealed by the Michigan City police.
Holifield reportedly called the police to confess the crime on May 30, and that’s when the poor victim was being treated at a local hospital in the intensive care unit, as cited in the court documents recently.
The suspect reported to cops how the victim was his best friend and the duo were even involved in a romantic relationship in the past as well. But he did also speak about how drinking was a major source of quarrel and bickering between the two as Keltz did not drink alcohol.
“The drinking was the point of contention amongst the two of them,” revealed authorities.
Holifield made up a master plan where he opted to kill her first by placing eye drops inside a cup that she routinely drank from. But soon, he noticed how that was not working too well as they failed to cause her severe illness.
While the victim did suffer from both diarrhea as well as hallucinations, she did manage to recover.
On that note, he found a bottle of windshield washer inside her room, which contained the poisonous chemical methanol. Furthermore, he chose to spike up her soda bottles with the solvent, which killed her in the end.
