Robbie Coltrane has died at the age of 72, his agent just confirmed.
According to reports from local media outlets, the celeb was a huge name in the world of acting. Moreover, he made history after winning a consecutive series of three awards for best actor.
His portrayal of Fitz in Cracker was a leading star performance that many continue to hail as acting brilliance today.
Mr. Coltrane played Hagrid in the eighth movie series of Harry Potter and even won so many hearts there and then.
Previously, the star was seen mentioning how he won an OBE and has since then, appeared in a lot of movies and television series besides Harry Potter’s famous franchise.
For many, he was a leading comedian in the United Kingdom and this was right before he turned his focus and got his break in the world of acting. And since then, he never looked back again.
The heartbreaking news was something that came as a huge shock for many of the celeb’s colleagues, fans, and followers.
His agent Belinda Wright mentioned how the 72-year-old star passed away on Friday. She sent out a heartbreaking statement that says, ‘Please respect Robbie’s family’s privacy at this very distressing time.”
In a recent statement, she says that he was not only a great human being but a wonderful actor, client, and friend. She also mentioned how a man with his caliber and talent was one of the most loving and heartwarming individuals out there in the fraternity.
Winning three BAFTAs in a row for his portrayal in the hit 1994 movie The Cracker really showed many how talented he was this was soon declared to be a Guinness World Record as no one had ever done something like this.
“He will be best remembered for decades to come as Hagrid in the Harry Potter films!”- she concluded.
