Actor Richard Gere has been rushed to the hospital after suffering a serious bout of pneumonia, sources have confirmed.
The renowned Hollywood star was in Mexico with his family as they were all due to celebrate his wife’s 40th birthday. But upon arrival, the celeb started getting a serious cough, and before they knew it, he was rushed to the hospital as his situation continued to get worse.
Doctors diagnosed him with pneumonia and hospitalized him for one day. Thankfully, the actor is doing much better now and is all set for a discharge after the health scare.
The news spread like wildfire on social media. Many people had a hard time coming to terms with the fact that he had been hospitalized in Mexico, just hours after his wife shared happy family clicks on Instagram.
Reports from TMZ claim the actor had developed a sudden but scary lung infection. And he didn’t take any risk in terms of delaying his treatment.
This is why the staff at the hospital ended up treating him and keeping him for one after thorough observation. His cough was bad but since then, he has been discharged and is doing well, sources claim.
His reps provided an update on his health and thanked those who wished the leading Hollywood star a speedy recovery. Moreover, his wife Alejandra Gere also took to her account to thank those that wished her for her birthday and send out their loving thoughts for her birthday too.
The couple’s two children were seen accompanying them on this trip. And that’s when the actor’s wife revealed that all of the children had been sick on this trip too after catching a viral infection. But thankfully, they’re all doing better now.
