Author JK Rowling has been receiving a series of chilling death threats, just moments after controversial author Salman Rushdie was brutally stabbed in upstate New York recently.
According to local media reports, the author who hails from the United Kingdom received a threat from an extremist individual named Meer Asif Aziz who is believed to be an extremist from Pakistan, sources explained.
The writer took to her account on Twitter to explain her sentiments on the matter while condemning the brutal attack on Salman Rushdie.
Rushdie was attacked a few moments before he took to the stage in front of a live audience in update New York yesterday, leaving so many witnesses horrified and stunned as to what was going on.
While the attacker has been arrested by cops and other people on stand-by yesterday, many can’t help but wonder how the armed attacker managed to get so close to the author, stabbing him in the neck at least 15 times and also punching him in the face as well.
The news comes just a few weeks after the author stated that he was living a life that was nothing short of normalcy. And clearly, that was not the case.
Rushdie was seen being airlifted to a nearby local hospital where he was forced to undergo surgery to try and treat his critical wounds.
Meanwhile, his rep confirmed how the author’s condition is at its worse and he is in danger while breathing with the assistance of a ventilator.
Many felt this was only taking place with the star because of the fact that she had shown support for the author. Hence, Rowling was caught bashing out at Twitter for allowing such a threat to be published and not banning the account for making death threats.
