A 28-year-old actress died tragically after being involved in a serious car crash.
Dannii Erskine was an Australian reality TV contestant and a ‘Bride and Prejudice’ star who died early Saturday morning after an alleged drunk driver struck her vehicle when she was returning home from shopping on Friday night.
“As she went through a green light, a driver was intoxicated and T-boned her,” the young woman’s grieving sister, Dee, said in an interview with So Dramatic.
The sibling went on to explain that Dannii’s “skull was crushed upon impact with the airbag.”
After the TV star was rushed to the hospital, she was declared brain dead, and six hours after her hospitalization her life support was turned off.
“She passed away the morning of April 29 at 12:01 am. She will be loved [and] very much missed… It was a horrible tragedy,” Dee added.
“She was 28, full of life and trying her best to move on and meet someone. Now she won’t get that chance.”
The sad news comes shortly after a bad breakup and amid Dannii’s attempts to move on and get her life back on track.
Paying a tribute to the young lady, Dannii’s family also issued a statement they shared on her official Instagram page.
“28/04 took Dannii’s life to a speeding driver – an awful accident. We appreciate and respect wishes we have received as a family,” her loved ones wrote.
