Daniel Hernandez, who is better known as 6ix9ine and Tekashi69, was arrested by the Florida police on Wednesday.
According to the reports, the rapper was taken into custody in Palm Beach County Jail for “failure to appear.” It is unclear when or why the controversial musician was required to appear in court.
Some three hours after his arrest, after being processed at the county jail, Hernandez was released from custody.
So far, Tekashi has yet to comment on his arrest and explain the nature of his charges.
The rapper’s arrest takes place four months after he was ambushed and beaten up at a gym in South Florida.
At the time, the musician was on his way to the locker room at LA Fitness when a group of men ambushed him and left him with severe injuries that required hospitalization.
Reports suggested that the rapper suffered injuries like bruises, swelling, and gashes across his body including his ribs, jaw, and back.
Shortly after the beating, the group of men bragged about their crime on social media saying the rapper wouldn’t be allowed in their hood while calling him a rat.
While Tekashi isn’t short of names on his list of enemies, it remains unclear what prompted the attack at the Florida gym.
The rapper previously sparked fury among his followers in 2018 when he made a deal with the prosecutors to testify against other suspects in crimes involving attempted murder and armed robbery in order to shorten his own prison time.
Following his testimony, Tekashi served just two years in prison despite facing life behind bars before his deal with the prosecutors.
