A Russian missile strike has pounded a railway station in Ukraine, leaving at least 15 dead and dozens injured.
The news was confirmed by Ukrainian President Zelensky who condemned the tragedy and added more details about the incident.
According to him, the missiles were aimed at a passenger train filled with innocent civilians and other nearby vehicles in Chaplyne, near Dnipro.
The President was seen issuing a new warning about how Putin would be using the excuse of his top aide’s daughter’s death as a reason for revenge to attack the nation.
Today marks six months since the day the large-scale war began, leaving thousands dead and many homes destroyed. But just when people thought the fighting from Russian troops de-escalated, today’s heartbreaking news proved otherwise.
The town of Chaplyne is stated to hold a population of 3500 residents and it happens to be located in the Dnipropetrovsk region. This scene was one of intense and recent fighting taking place between both sides, including the Kremlin forces and Ukraine’s army too.
Among the victims included children too, as sounds of screams filled the air as rescue services tried to make their way to assist in recovering dead bodies while rushing victims to a nearby medical facility where they could be treated for their wounds.
There are other reports of how large rockets struck a series of unspecified targets in the Khmelnytskyi region. This is just 180 miles away from the west of Kyiv, explained the region’s governor.
In other places like Donetsk, fighting between Russian troops and Ukrainian armed forces continues to take place on a routine basis and is yet to remain peaceful.
Before, we saw Ukraine’s president pledge how he and his troops would never give up and would fight until the end. But if attacks like these continue to take place, there are great fears for the country’s worse.
