Authorities in Morocco are waiting anxiously as rescuers are getting closer to saving a young boy trapped inside a well for five days.
According to local media reports, little Rayan is stated to have fallen down a well that’s 100ft deep on Tuesday and since then, he has been stuck.
Meanwhile, as rescuers inch closer, they deem the final six feet to be the most dangerous as a landslide could occur at any moment.
Since the rescuers involved were not able to reach down the narrow shaft, they were left with no choice but to launch a major digging operation that has the world praying for the boy’s safe recovery and well-being.
Horrifying images and video footage from the scene of the incident showcased several diggers busy at work as they delved down deep into the earth’s ground so they could reach him.
In addition to that, they are trying to send him food and water as well as oxygen to ensure his survival as they race against time to save the innocent young child.
Now, authorities claim to be just a few feet away from completing the carefully-moving effort to take him out, whom they hope to find alive.
As days go on, more and more fears are growing regarding his safety and health as his father who has not slept for five days sits awaiting a miracle.
Little Rayan fell inside the 105-feet shaft on Tuesday, which is present just outside his home in the Ighran village in Chefchaouen.
And that is what instantly led to a massive rescue mission that captivated the entire North African nation of Morocco.
Crews have made use of bulldozers and front-end loaders too, just to try and create the safest path of rescue for the child. But as the risk of landslides increases by the second, many around the globe are praying for his safety.
