Quentin Oliver Lee has passed away at the age of 34 on Thursday morning after a lengthy battle against colon cancer.
The Broadway actor’s wife, Angie Lee Graham, confirmed the heartbreaking news on Instagram.
“I saw his last breaths, held his hand tight, and felt his heartbeat slowly drift away. He had a smile on his face, and was surrounded by those,” she wrote.
Best known for his role as Phantom in the US tour of The Phantom of the Opera and in Heather Christian’s Oratorio for Living Things, Quentin spent his final moments with his wife next to him.
“It was peaceful, and perfect,” Angie continued.
“He was an incredible man, husband, father, son, brother, friend, singer, actor, and disciple of Christ with great faith in his Father in Heaven. To say ‘he will be dearly missed” doesn’t reflect the scope of the people and communities he has created and touched.”
Angie also shared a photo of her husband holding their daughter on his lap on a park bench and also other heartwarming family pictures.
The grieving wife went on: “If we let him, he made us better people. Samantha and I are supported and lifted by our families and our own faith.
“Please understand if I don’t respond, but trust that your messages and love have been read and felt.”
According to Broadway World, Quentin held a teaching position with the Flagstaff School of Music. He was also a “member of the Cardinal Key Honor Society.”
Only months ago, Quentin shared a photo of his hospital wristband and revealed in the caption that ‘this year’ had ‘been a wild ride’ from working on the play to being diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer.
In June, his family setup a GoFundMe page to help cover his medical expenses, including surgery and chemotherapy, and raised $43,948.
