Prince Harry has made a bombshell claim saying his brother, Prince William, physically assaulted him and knocked him to the floor.
While the world is no stranger to the constant quarreling between estranged brothers William and Harry, the latter has now taken the issue a step further after claiming his brother, the heir to the throne, left him with visible injuries during one of their bouts.
In an excerpt from his autobiography Spare, Prince Harry alleged that his older sibling physically attacked him during a 2019 fight they had at his London residence.
According to the extract, which was obtained by The Guardian, Harry alleged that Prince William responded with violence after he confronted him about “parroting the press narrative” about Meghan.
Harry further claimed that William called his wife “difficult” and “rude” before grabbing him by his collar and knocking him to the floor.
The 38-year-old also insisted that the altercation left him with a visible injury to his back.
“[He] grabbed me by the collar, ripping my necklace, and… knocked me to the floor,” the Duke of Sussex wrote in his memoir.
Recalling the argument over Meghan and the couple’s struggles over the press in detail, Harry wrote:
“He set down the water, called me another name, then came at me. It all happened so fast. So very fast. He grabbed me by the collar, ripping my necklace, and he knocked me to the floor.
“I landed on the dog’s bowl, which cracked under my back, the pieces cutting into me. I lay there for a moment, dazed, then got to my feet and told him to get out.”
Following the fight, William allegedly asked Harry to hit him back but Harry refused. William then apologized and left “looking regretful.”
Harry also insisted he didn’t tell Meghan about the attack until she noticed bruises on his back. While he claims Meghan “wasn’t that surprised” by his brother’s actions, Harry noted that she was “terribly sad” over the escalation.
