Prince Harry is bound to find the Queen’s passing “doubly difficult” because he wasn’t there when Her Majesty died, a TV host implied.
Queen Elizabeth II’s sudden death has taken the entire world by surprise and prompted millions of tributes to one of the most dedicated and devoted monarchs of all time.
While tributes to Her Majesty continue pouring in, stations around the world began discussing the Queen’s final moments and the consequences her death means for other members of the Royal Family.
Speaking on the Today show, hosts Karl Stefanovic and Allison Langdon noted that the Duke of Sussex “wasn’t there for the passing of his beloved grandmother” when Prince William and the rest of the family gathered to bid her farewell.
“It’s a difficult day when any member of your family dies. For [Harry], doubly difficult, I would have thought,” Stefanovic said while likely keeping the strained relationship between the Sussexes and the rest of the Royal Family in mind.
Reports reveal that Harry touched down in Scotland just before 7 pm and some 15 minutes after the Queen was declared dead.
The hosts also shared a photo showing Prince Harry arriving at Balmoral in Scotland where the Queen spent her final moments.
It has since come to light that Harry traveled to Scotland alone, whereas Meghan stayed in London where she was set to attend the WellChild Awards prior to the sad news.
Though Meghan’s appearance at the event was canceled, she is currently in London and it remains unclear if she’s going to join Harry in Scotland as the family continues mourning the Queen.
