Prince Harry Sparks Fury As He Compares Himself To Grieving Children Of Late Soldiers

Prince Harry has managed to raise plenty of eyebrows after drawing attention to his own grief while addressing the grieving children of late soldiers.

In an emotional letter to bereaved children of deceased British Armed Forces members, the Duke of Sussex told the youth that his “thoughts and heart” were with them on Remembrance Day.

The 38-year-old prince, whose memoir ‘Spare’ is set to hit the shelves in January, also drew a comparison between the children’s grief to that of his own as he remembered losing his mother in a car crash when he was still a young boy.

“We share a bond even without ever meeting one another, because we share in having lost a parent. I know first-hand the pain and grief that comes with loss and want you to know that you are not alone,” Harry penned.

“While difficult feelings will come up today as we pay tribute to heroes like your mum or dad, I hope you can find comfort and strength in knowing that their love for you lives and shines on.

“Whenever you need a reminder of this, I encourage you to lean into your friends at Scotty’s Little Soldiers. One of the ways I’ve learned to cope has been through community and talking about my grief, and I couldn’t be more grateful and relieved that you have amazing people walking beside you throughout your journey.”

Harry went on to pay a tribute to all the service members who gave their lives while serving the nation as he insisted he was proud of the children for remembering them.

While his speech was received happily by many, Prince Harry also suffered a decent amount of backlash with people suggesting he was using his own grief and his story instead of focusing on the men and women who died fighting for the nation.

“He should have just paid tribute to those who sacrificed their lives for country. His mother died in a car accident, totally unrelated to Remembrance Day,” someone wrote.

“He lost his mother because of an accident. He lost the rest of his family through choice!” another raged on.

A third said: “I know there is no time on grief, but it seems Harry has to compare everyone else’s grief with his own.”
