A pregnant mother and her unborn baby were left fighting for their lives after being ambushed by a group of teens.
30-year-old Diane Miller from Perth, Australia, was left with severe injuries after a confrontation with a group of youths at a parking lot outside Waterford Plaza.
According to the young woman’s family, Miller got involved in a confrontation between two groups of teenagers after her car allegedly got blocked.
Amid the altercation, a 17-year-old boy picked up a concrete block and threw it into the mother’s head, causing Miller to suffer horrific injuries including a cardiac arrest.
For twenty minutes until the ambulance arrived at the scene, the police and bystanders attempted to resuscitate the woman to no avail.
After the mother was rushed to the hospital, doctors suggested there was a high chance both the mother and the baby would die due to Miller’s brain swelling.
“They are going to keep monitoring her brain; if it keeps swelling it’s going to stop the blood going to her brain, you’re going to end up brain dead and once that happens…the baby will die (too),” brother Malcolm Clifton said.
Clifton went on to reveal that his sister’s unborn baby is just five months old and still “too young to come out.”
He also explained that his nephew, 8-month-old baby boy Lloyde now faces life without his mother and sibling.
“We are destroyed, we want these people whoever they are, brought to justice, we want what’s deserved,” the upset brother added.
Following the shocking assault, the 17-year-old who threw the concrete block was arrested and charged.
Meanwhile, Inspector Brett Baddock condemned the assault and branded it as “unacceptable, senseless, and unprovoked violence.”
