American actor and MMA star Jason David Frank has passed away at the age of 49 after taking his own life.
The father-of-four was best known for his role as the Green Power Ranger Tommy Oliver in Mighty Morphin Power Rangers and later the White Power Ranger in the beloved children’s series.
Frank’s death was confirmed by Justine Hunt, his representative, who revealed that the TV star died of suicide in Texas.
“Please respect the privacy of his family and friends during this horrible time as we come to terms with the loss of such a wonderful human being,” Hunt told TMZ.
“He loved his family, friends and fans very much. He will truly be missed.”
The 49-year-old actor’s passing comes just months after his wife, Tammie Frank, filed for divorce after accusing her partner of infidelity.
The couple had been married for almost two decades since 2003.
Following the saddening news, Frank’s fans and co-stars spoke out and paid the MMA artist touching tributes as they remembered his works and praised his energy on the screen.
“Can’t believe it …. RIP Jason David Frank. My heart is sad to have lost another member of our special family,” Frank’s former co-star and the original Black Power Ranger Walter Jones expressed.
Speaking to People, he added: “He had a wild sense of humor. We had our share of ups and downs, but I stayed consistent about being an ear if he needed one.
“My prayers go out to his family and all that will miss him. May he rest in Power.”
The actor is survived by four children including Jenna, Skye, Jacob, and Hunter.
