Nine people, including four children from the same family, were killed in a deadly car crash that occurred on Commerce Avenue in Las Vegas on January 29.
North Las Vegas police have released heartbreaking 911 calls from the incident.
One caller told an emergency dispatcher after the six-car pileup: “There’s bodies everywhere. Adults and children. Come fast.”
Another witness said: “Oh my God! We need paramedics. There’s a baby. It’s dead.”
A third who witnessed the collision said in Spanish: “Oh my God. My God! Get down, it’s a kid, it’s a kid. Don’t look!”
According to police, the tragic incident was caused by 59-year-old Gary Robinson, a career criminal who ran through a red light at 100mph and crashed his Dodge Challenger into other vehicles.
He and his passenger, 46-year-old Tanaga Ravel Miller, were both pronounced dead at the scene.
The incident also killed a family of seven: Jose Zacarias Caldera, 35; David Mejia-Barrera, 25; Gabriel Mejia-Barrera, 23; Bryan Axel Zacarias, 15; Lluvia Daylenn Zacarias, 13; Adrian Zacarias, 10; and Fernando Yeshua Mejia, 5.
The grieving parents of the children who tragically died were not in the vehicle as the siblings were on their way to lunch with their stepbrothers and uncle.
The local emergency dispatch center received harrowing 911 calls from witnesses, with one caller telling a dispatcher: “It’s a lot of people dead. Inside the car, outside the car.”
Another frantic caller told the dispatcher that there was a child at the scene. “Oh my God, is that a baby? Oh my God, is that a baby?” she exclaimed, likely referring to the 5-year-old.
“What? What’s going on?” the dispatcher asked, to which she replied: “We need paramedics! There’s a baby! Oh my God!”
The caller added: “It’s so many people flying out of the car there, out the car. It’s four cars. Commerce and Cheyenne Avenue.
Another witness begged for help and said: “It’s a lot of people. Come on. Oh my god, oh my god. There’s a lot of people on the floor.”
