Thirsty FIFA world cup fans are taking matters into their own hands as Qatar recently announced a ban on serving alcohol at all stadiums across the nation.
Many fans associate booze with soccer matches and as you can imagine, the news was not taken too well. While you can find drinks elsewhere, the thought of not having a pint of beer by your side while cheering for your favorite side really had people in shock.
But recently, new reports have shed light on a master plan devised by English fans who claim they’re making sure their booze cravings are not going unsatisfied. Think along the lines of a Qatari pub that’s actually serving pints for a whopping price tag of $7 and yet, it’s selling like hotcakes.
The famous football governing body could be seen mentioning how the drinks would only be served in a few destinations and that’s where all the fans are flocking to, right before the match.
This new report showed how a pre-match drinking binge fest has begun arising in so many places. And as one can imagine, Punters were pictured singing absolute soccer classics while swaying with drinks in their hands.
Many spoke about how not having a beer for them was like an incomplete experience as they’ve always associated sports and alcoholic beverages.
Those who purchase the drinks claim they are very happy and while they wish they were allowed into stadiums with it, this just might have to do for now.
A few days back, Qatari officials confirmed how despite Budweiser being a leading sponsor for the event, the country had backtracked on the decision to serve alcoholic beer cans inside the venue. Only those that were alcohol-free were allowed inside.
