The heartbroken boyfriend of a 45-year-old mother who disappeared while walking her dog out has spoken out.
Nicole Bulley, a mother of two, vanished on Friday morning while she was out walking her dog. Her phone was found near the area where she was last spotted and her springer spaniel Willow was also found loose between the bench and the river.
Her boyfriend, Paul Ansell, said from their home in Lancashire: “It is just perpetual hell. It is just utter disbelief.”
He continued: We are living through this but it doesn’t feel real. All we can say is we need to find her. She’s got two little girls that need their mummy home. We have got to get some good news now.”
Speaking to Mirror, Superintendent Sally Riley said that Ms. Bulley’s mobile phone was on an active call when it was found.
“It was on a meeting call, and that was still live. it was connected to the conference call and that hadn’t been terminated.”
In a press conference, Supt. Riley said that fears for the mother-of-two are growing as time passes.
“The police are keeping a really open mind about what could have happened but we do believe that the likelihood is that Nicola has gone missing and this is not a crime inquiry,” she said.
Police also said that Ms. Bulley usually did the school run before taking the dog for a walk.
“I got a call from the school regarding somebody who had found Willow, and Nikki’s phone and the dog lead and harness on the bench,” Mr. Ansell said.
“We take the kids to school and take the dog down there – either myself or Nikki – nearly every day.”
Intense searches have been carried out by police using drones and canines, with support from the Bowland Pennine Mountain Rescue team, Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service, and the North West Underwater Search Team.
Police said the case was not currently being treated as a ‘crime inquiry.’
