The family of the Oxford High School shooting survivor that reportedly got shot in the neck, has now filed two mega lawsuits worth $100 million each against the school district.
According to media reports, Riley and Bella Franz’s family has sued the school district because they allege there was a lot that could have been done to prevent the deadly attack but it just wasn’t the case.
17-year-old Riley received a bullet to his neck while seated right next to his sister, 14-year-old Bella. Thankfully, the 17 managed to make it out alive, despite four others being gunned down by Ethan Crumbley who opened fire on his own classmates.
Attorney Geoffrey Fieger has gone on to file the suits on behalf of the family on Thursday, alleging that the horror that took place on November 30 was highly preventable.
The suits name Oxford Community School District’s Superintendent Timothy Throne, alongside High School Principal Steven Wolf, the dean of students, as well as two counselors, two teachers, and one staff member as well.
Ethan Crumbley who was a sophomore at the school was taken into police custody and charged for murder as an adult, while other charges placed against his name include terrorism and other crimes.
On the other hand, the shooter’s parents are also in jail on suicide watch, as they were later arrested and charged for involuntary manslaughter.
While all three members of the family are behind bars, police claim that none of them are allowed to speak to one another and have been separated to avoid any unfortunate circumstance from taking place.
More news about the lawsuits will soon be provided during a recent press conference that is scheduled for today.
The school is yet to respond to comments regarding the matter.
