China is under fire after it publicly shamed and paraded all those who failed to obey its strict lockdown rules.
According to local media outlets, China made it a point to teach a lesson to all of those individuals who broke the COVID-19 rules that the country set to help contain the growing number of cases.
Shocking images have been released by state media showing several people parading down the streets wearing Hazmat suits. But wait, that is not all.
They were also seen carrying placards that had their names on them too as a bid to make sure that they obey all the COVID-19 rules set in place in the future.
Police patrolling the Chinese streets made sure that all the violators were taught a lesson for their actions as the country struggles to contain growing virus cases while enforcing the public to stay in lockdown.
But this practice is not being appreciated as many feel the harsh punishment in today’s modern times is beyond absurd.
Meanwhile, in the year 2018, China banned such behavior that entailed public shaming and parading of suspects on the streets. For this reason, many find it bizarre why the modern nation is going back on its own rules and policies that it had once set in the past.
At the moment, 13 million Chinese citizens have reportedly been barred from going outside, even when it comes to buying essentials like food too!
Watching armed riot police take to the streets in parts of Southern China has led to great criticism from the world too as many felt the government was indulging in an extreme or overly heavy-handed approach.
