Oprah Winfrey is feeling the heat after making some insensitive comments about the royal family, moments after the Queen’s death.
According to local media outlets, Oprah was slammed for mentioning how she hoped ‘burying the dead’ would assist Prince Harry and Meghan Markle move on and make peace with the royal family.
But many found those remarks to be awfully insensitive because of not only the timing but also the fact that the couple’s explosive interview with her is what contributed to the family’s fallout.
The 68-year-old renowned television personality was seen speaking out and making comments about where she felt Prince Harry and Prince William stand. Moreover, she was also seen mentioning how hopeful she felt over the tragic loss of their grandmother and how it could assist in bringing things back together again.
Oprah then switched the conversation to make it appear like it was more about her. And that’s when she detailed that seeing her father die last year in the summer and then watching family members unite and grieve together at a common ceremony really carries a lot of weight emotionally.
She added how this could be a great way to conduct peacemaking while speaking to Extra magazine for an interview.
She hoped and prayed the same for Harry and Meghan while offering her condolences to the Royal family on this occasion.
At the moment, the couple’s relationship with the royal family is definitely not where the couple would have liked it to be.
After all, despite being pictured with William and Kate, there wasn’t any form of communication between the two sides. And if there was some form of dialogue, it appeared to be for the sake of the press, and crowds lined up to meet and greet them while mourning the late Queen.
