Oprah Winfrey’s father has died at the age of 88, after a long battle with cancer.
According to local media reports, the leading celeb had just thrown a grand party in honor of her father on the Fourth of July but little did she or anyone know that this would be the last time they’d be celebrating with him by their side.
The famous television personality’s dad was believed to own a barbershop and was also hailed as Nashville’s councilman while he was alive.
His 68-year-old daughter Oprah Winfrey was seen uploading a tribute post for her dad through her account on Instagram during the early hours of Saturday. And that’s when the world came to know about the tragic finding.
The post comprised of a heartfelt caption, moments after his demise, explained sources.
“Yesterday, I was surrounded by family and we were all there by his bedside. We had the sacred honor of witnessing the man responsible for my life take his final breath”- she explained.
Oprah revealed how she and so many others could literally feel peace enter the room during the time of his passing.
She also revealed how that presence of peace still exists there, adding how all is well on her end. She thanked all of her fans, followers, and fellow loved ones for the wonderful wishes and good thoughts during this difficult time for her and the family.
Many recalled Oprah’s father to be a hardworking businessman who battled long and hard with cancer. But to celebrate her dad and his wonderful efforts and strong personality, Oprah had kept a grand fourth of July party at her residence in his honor. It was a surprise for her dad and he enjoyed it very much.
A lot of commenters expressed their heartfelt condolences underneath Oprah’s post, adding how it was the most beautiful tribute that any daughter could give to her loving dad.
