Meghan Markle is definitely making more headlines recently after the second episode of her Archetypes podcast went on air recently.
This time around, the episode was released featuring both Meghan and superstar singer Mariah Carey by her side.
The podcast brought to us by Spotify was called, ‘The Duality of Diva’ and that’s when more controversy grew as Mariah called Meghan a diva. “She really does give us diva moments sometimes. I love it!”- the singer laughed.
But the real controversy surrounding the podcast is a comment that the Duchess of Sussex made in regards to her skin color.
“I was only made to feel like a black woman when I began dating Prince Harry”- she explained. And to many people’s surprise, that was definitely not something that they were expecting.
As it is, plenty of skin color and racism-themed comments have been on the rise related to the Royal Palace when the Oprah Winfrey interview was unveiled. That is when a question had been raised about Archie’s skin color by a royal family member who is yet to be named.
This time around, Meghan put herself in the spotlight, adding how she was treated and made to feel like a black woman because she was of mixed race.
“I was treated in that manner after I met Harry. Things really did shift for me!”- she continued.
“I was like a fangirl. They described the feeling of not being able to fit in properly because I was a mixed race”- she explained.
But Meghan was then seen taking a step back when Mariah dubbed her a diva. After seeing Meghan’s expressions, Mariah rephrased her comment and explained what she meant.
‘Your clothing and poses do give us those diva moments”- the singer continued.
Despite stepping down from her royal titles, Meghan says that people still see her as a princess too, again, causing uproar on social media.
