Olivia Newton-John’s final photo before she passed away at the age of 73 has been revealed.
The actress was surrounded by her family and friends when she died in her home in Southern California on Monday morning after a long battle against cancer.
Her grieving husband John Easterling revealed that her final request was for donations to be made to her charity, the Olivia Newton-John Foundation Fund, instead of buying flowers.
Olivia’s foundation funds research into holistic treatments and plant-based medicine for cancer.
Her last photo shows the actress smiling from ear to ear as she stood in her garden. “Wishing everyone a Happy Easter on this beautiful Spring day,” she captioned the Instagram photo.
In her final video shared before Christmas, she thanked her fans for their love and support over the decades.
“I just wanted to take this opportunity to wish all a primarily healthy, happy, peaceful Christmas,” the 73-year-old said.
“I know it’s been a very, very, very difficult time for everybody in the whole planet – so this is a time we can get together, celebrate each other and our families and whatever faith that you believe in we can express it with each other which is very important.
“I want to thank you all for all of your support over the years and I wish you all the best and send you love and light.”
It was in 1992 when Newton-John was first diagnosed with cancer. Even though she managed to beat it, the cancer returned in 2013 and again in 2017.
High-profile friends paid tribute to the actress, with her Grease co-star John Travolta writing on Instagram: “My dearest Olivia, you made all of our lives so much better. Your impact was incredible. I love you so much. We will see you down the road and we will all be together again.
“Yours from the first moment I saw you and forever! Your Danny, your John!”
