The driver behind the speeding vehicle that rammed into an 18-day-old baby’s stroller has been jailed.
According to local media reports, the uninsured suspect was driving at over twice the speed limit when he struck the baby’s stroller in a horror crash that took place last year.
Witnesses claim they saw the baby’s troller fly in the air, clearly showing the horrifying impact of the incident that killed the child at the scene.
The suspect was identified as 35-year-old James Paul Davis who was reportedly talking on his phone when the incident occurred.
This was the little boy’s first-ever outing when he was born but little did his parents realize that it would also be his last.
The victim was identified as Ciaran Leigh Morris.
Both his mother and father accompanied their newborn child as they took a lovely stroll outside to enjoy the great outdoor weather.
But in the blink of an eye, everything took a turn for the worst.
The father could be heard moments later yelling at the driver, “You just killed my son” as many gathered around the site of the horror smash.
The baby’s stroller was seen pinned against a nearby shot, moments after the child’s parents continued to yell in panic, ‘the baby, the baby”- as the horrifying tragedy unfolded.
Sources revealed how the driver has received a jail sentence of 6.5 years, as his sentencing was read out loud at the Crown Court in Wolverhampton. The cause of the infant’s death was announced as dangerous driving.
Many hailed from the victim’s family breathed sighs of relief when the verdict was read out loud as they felt that justice had finally been served for them.
