A woman has recently revealed how she has left her office job after being body-shamed and dress-coded by her own manager.
As it is, plus-size women have a difficult time with their self-esteem and when you’ve got a boss who’s constantly nagging about how your figure needs a certain kind of clothing to cover the excess amount of skin, you can only imagine how hard life can get.
Therefore, one woman says she has had enough of her manager dress coding her about her plus-size figure, and that’s exactly why she didn’t think twice before quitting her workplace.
“He told me I was bigger in size so I had to wear clothing that was appropriate. But I don’t think that’s fair. I should be allowed to wear something that skinny girls wear too”- the woman named Abigayle Canterbury revealed.
The entire incident was recorded on her cellphone and since then, it’s been going viral as we speak.
In the post, Abigayle makes it very clear that she quit her last job after working for just three weeks at a smokehouse.
She adds that getting dress coded at a job that fails to have any sort of dress code was just not alright in her eyes. She also felt that the situation didn’t make sense to her and for her, that was a good enough reason to quit.
“Yes, I am also the only plus-sized woman out there too. I have never been to any office space that treated me this way. Yes, they have mostly petite girls working for them and they can wear anything. But for me, they suddenly put up all these rules and regulations and that’s not ok”- she added.
