Two nurses were among the four people who died after a private jet crashed in California.
On Monday, a private Learjet 35A belonging to Aeromedevac Air Ambulance came crashing down in El Cajon, California, after slamming into a power line.
As the 10-seater plane crashed onto the street, all four people on board were killed.
It has since come to light that two flight nurses, who were accompanying a patient from Arizona according to CBS8, were among the victims of the crash.
One of the two nurses, Tina Ward, was identified by the Oceanside Firefighters Association. In their post, the service revealed that the dedicated nurse was the wife of retired chief Joe Ward.
“It is with heavy hearts that the Oceanside Fire Department and their fire family would like to extend our deepest condolences to our recently retired Chief Ward, his family, and all family and friends of the Aeromedevac flight crew N880Z,” their post read.
“Chief Ward’s wife Tina, was a flight nurse on board of the aircraft that crashed last night in El Cajon. We are shocked and saddened by this devastating news and are keeping you all in our thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.”
The other deceased nurse was identified as Local 162 President Laurie Gentz and a nurse with three decades of experience by the International Association of EMTs and Paramedics.
“The IAEP extends sincere condolences for the devastating and sudden loss of Local 162 President Laurie Gentz, her fellow passengers and the Learjet flight crew early this morning,” their post reads.
“President Gentz will be greatly missed by all who knew her and all who benefit from her selfless contributions to organized labor in the Greater San Diego area.”
Our thoughts are with the victims’ families and friends during these challenging times.
