Nick Carter broke into tears and needed a break while performing with his band less than 24 hours after his younger brother’s passing.
Aaron Carter, 34, was found dead in the bathtub at his home in Lancaster, California, on Saturday. While the cause of death remains under investigation, it is believed the singer might have died from drowning shortly before his body was discovered by a female housekeeper.
Following Aaron’s death, his superstar brother, Nick Carter, paid him a tribute and said his love for his sibling never faded even though they had a complicated relationship.
“My heart is broken. Even though my brother and I have had a complicated relationship, my love for him has never ever faded,” the Backstreet Boys vocalist expressed.
“I have always held on to the hope that he would somehow, someday want to walk a healthy path and eventually find the help that he so desperately needed.”
Now, Nick was seen breaking into tears and bringing the show to a halt while performing with his band as part of their DNA World Tour.
The singer was overcome with emotion while singing Show Me The Meaning of Being Lonely with his band members who immediately rushed to his aid and gave him a big hug.
“Tonight we’ve got heavy hearts, because we lost one of our family members yesterday,” Nick’s bandmate, Kevin Richardson, told the audience.
“We just wanted to find a moment in our show to recognize him. He’s a part of our family and we thank you guys for all your love and support.”
The concert came just hours after Nick’s touching tribute to Aaron in which he shared a series of throwback photos of the two brothers.
Our thoughts remain with the Carter family as they continue to mourn the loss of the young musician.
