BREAKING: NFL Legend Jack Squirek Has Died At The Age Of Just 64


NFL legend who helped his team win the 1984 Super Bowl has passed away at the age of just 64.

Jack Squirek was a former Las Vegas Raiders linebacker whose famous touchdown in 1984 helped his team win the Super Bowl.

It was now revealed that the former athlete passed away from undisclosed causes, leaving behind his wife of 36 years as well as their two children and two grandchildren.

“The Raiders Family is mourning the loss of Jack Squirek, who passed away on Friday. Squirek played four years for the Raiders and was a central figure in one of pro football’s all-time great plays,” the Raiders announced in a statement on X.

“With the Raiders leading Washington near halftime of Super Bowl XVIII, Squirek intercepted a screen pass and returned it 12 yards for a touchdown to give the Silver and Black an insurmountable 21-3 lead in the eventual victory.

“He originally joined the Raiders as a second-round draft pick out of Illinois in 1982 and played in 53 career games with the Raiders before finishing his pro career with Miami.”

Concluding the emotional post, the team added: “The thoughts and deepest condolences of the Raider Nation are with the Squirek family at this time.”

Following his team’s Super Bowl win, during which Squirek intercepted a pass and scored a touchdown, the footballer went on to appear on the Sports Illustrated front page before rising to fame in the years that came.

After his career in the NFL, Squirek focused on business by running a cleaning company in Cleveland.
