This is the story of a mother who claims to have used tattoos to cover up the scars of abuse that she endured during her childhood.
According to local media reports, the mother named Melissa Sloan maybe 45 years of age but she’s still not over the pain of abuse that her brother inflicted upon her during her younger years.
Sloan who hails from Powys in South Wales says she needs ink to help emotionally recover from the pain that her brother left on her. And that is why she’s brave enough to get a new inking each week.
At first glance, it’s so easy to judge someone with so many inkings but you never really know what the reason behind their troubles may be.
“I usually tell people not to judge a book by its cover because you never really know what their life is all about unless you walk in the same shoes”- she explained. And with dramatic artwork filled all over, that’s the sort of stares she gets from people who think as a mother, she should know better.
“The artwork that covers me is dramatic. I know that. But it’s because the pain of being s*xually abused each day is what haunts me to the core”- the mother started to explain.
And despite having seven children, who keep her busy all the time, the scars will never go away and that’s why this survivor says she needs ink to mask the physical and emotional turmoil.
From head to toe, you’ll find her body covered in ink and last week, her brother was finally jailed for his wrongdoing. “I’ve finally had the courage to speak up on the subject after he received his punishment”- she elaborated.
