Haunting details are coming to light regarding the tragic plane crash that killed 72 people on board a doomed Nepal flight.
Sources from local media outlets have confirmed how the female co-pilot operating the plane had a husband who was a pilot and had similarly died in a plane crash. This tragedy took place 17 years ago, leaving the world on the verge of tears.
Other details mentioned how the wife had used her insurance payout to pay for her flying lessons and only became a pilot after gaining inspiration from her husband.
She was identified as 44-year-old Anju Khatiwada and was a part of the 72 individuals feared dead on the flight.
The plane was highlighted to be a domestic carrier that suddenly exploded mid-air, right before taking a turn and crashing into a gorge.
Despite intense and swift rescue and relief operations in place, there were no survivors spoken of, leaving loved ones heartbroken.
Anju’s husband also died in a crash involving a smaller plane, 17 years ago. In 2006, Dipak Pokhrel died when the small passenger jet he happened to be flying went down in a span of several minutes. And that was right before it landed.
To help carry on her dream of following in her husband’s footsteps of being a pilot, she had to arrange a sum of money to fulfill the course of her flying lessons. Hence for that, she made use of insurance funds outlined for her, after her husband’s tragic death.
This particular tragedy is being called one of the worst in the Nepalese nation’s history, since the year 1992.
