A woman is shocking the world with her confessions regarding her troubled life and how she ended up marrying her own abuser.
According to reports from local media outlets, the young female was only 8 years old when the bishop of her church turned out to be her abuser.
He r*ped her and caused her to get pregnant. By the age of nine, she delivered his baby, and then by 11, the duo reportedly got married. Meanwhile, by the age of 16, she had six children. And that left so many people in horror as to what was going on.
Sherry revealed how he was double her age at the time he attacked her. She was horrified and didn’t even understand what was going on as she was so young.
During the time of the attack, she was alone at home while her sister and mother were at church. This was not something she or anyone could have ever imagined would occur but it did and she was mortified.
She was violated and says it was the most harrowing experience that she could never forget, even if she wanted to. “I was just so scared, I was in pain, and I wanted to cry”- she further detailed while sitting down for her recent interview.
The church and kitchen were linked. All one had to do was walk down those steps and that’s it. You would enter the church and that is what gave her attacker easy access to her residence and then her.
He attacked her but this was the start of many episodes, she adds. There were plenty of days when the deacon of her local church would randomly enter and she would wake up by finding him on top of her.
But this young girl confided in her mother who blasted her for doing so. She called her own daughter a liar and informed the church’s congregation about her behavior. It was an abuse of a different kind that she just couldn’t understand at the young age of 9.
After months of abuse, she got pregnant with his baby. Her mom feared for people’s reactions and ended up sending her daughter away with the bishop who continued to rape her again and finally they got married. “This is the reality of my life, I have six children today and somehow, I have the courage to speak up about it”- she adds.
