Iran is known as a country with some of the world’s most stringent rules and regulations and this next incident is proof of just that.
Two young teenage girls were reportedly arrested for singing and dancing in public. The duo could be seen having a blast in the open public, and that was one mistake that many citizens felt they were not doing right.
But Iran’s morality police were quick to mention how this behavior was just not okay. They reported the crime as unbelievingly wrong and were quick to throw those guilty of the ordeal in jail.
The girls were reportedly having some fun and making content for their account on TikTok. But little did they know about what was in store for them.
Iran is known for enforcing some of the strictest rules when it comes down to the female gender, in particular. And the fact that they were not donning headscarves and chose to indulge in the act had the officials enraged.
But it did not take long at all for the news to go viral. And even superstar singer Selena Gomez noticed. She condemned the behavior and shared it on her Instagram Account.
Selena said that she felt sorry for the act and gave these young girls all the more power to stay strong during this difficult time.
The clip featured the young girls shaking a leg on the hit viral track called ‘calm down’. They were all dressed in western clothing, which is again rarely seen in a conservative society like that in the country.
