A man from Missouri who reportedly beat his pregnant wife to death using a mallet will now spend the rest of his life in prison, after being convicted of murder recently.
According to local media reports, the suspect was identified as Beau Rothwell for carrying out the heinous crime, which killed his pregnant wife. He is also believed to have been found guilty of tampering with the evidence related to the case, and for abandoning his wife’s corpse in April of 2019.
The sentencing was revealed on Friday, where the suspect was granted life imprisonment with no parole for killing his wife Jennifer Rothwell.
During the time of her death, the victim was believed to be six weeks pregnant but that was not a good enough reason for the husband to stop and think twice before embarking on his evil murder mission.
The couple reportedly engaged in an argument, right before the suspect committed the crime. It was related to a suspected affair that the victim’s husband was having, as confessed by the suspect on the witness stand during his trial.
It is believed that emotions escalated when the killer refused to name who the other woman was and that made his wife furious and the situation quickly became so violent.
“She told me that I could keep my mystery b*tch”- the killer confessed and she even alleged that the child in her womb was not his either. But she made those statements in anger as the child was confirmed to be his after a paternity test.
“I went into a state of red haze. I did not know what was taking place around me. I lost complete control”- the suspect mentioned on the witness stand.
In the heat of the moment, he turned so violent that he used a mallet to hit her so bad that she fell down to the ground, unconscious. “I cracked her skull”, he added, leaving the courtroom in a state of utter shock and disbelief.
