A 29-year-old bodybuilder who shot his parents on Christmas day has been arrested after police managed to track him down via GPS.
Dino Tomasetti’s mugshot photo has been released after officers chased him into New Jersey for shooting Rocco Tomassetti, 65, and his wife Vincenza Marsicano-Tomassetti at their $3.2 million mansion in Long Island.
He is charged as a fugitive from justice and is now being held at the Bergen County Jail.
The severity of the charges Dino will face will depend on his parents’ condition as both of them underwent surgery for their wounds.
Rocco was shot in the back and remains in serious condition while Vincenza was shot in the head, the Daily Voice reported.
According to the Long Island Herald, Dino’s parents were conscious when they were found inside their 8,751-square foot mansion in Hewlett Harbor.
The family is part of a construction dynasty created by the late Dino Tomasetti Sr., whose chain of Laquila companies helped shape the skyline of New York City.
Their impressive projects include the Bank of America headquarters, Goldman Sachs headquarters near Ground Zero, condominiums, and more.
However, the Tomassetti family has been embroiled in legal troubles, with federal prosecutors alleging the late grandfather had connections to the mob.
Dino works as a trainer in Brooklyn and his social media pages show photos of him showing off his muscles and traveling to popular areas of the world such as the Caribbean and Paris.
A woman outside his building in East Williamsburg said that her ‘best friend’ was not violent
“Nope, not at all,” she told the NY Post. “He’s my best friend. I really don’t want to talk about it.”
A staff in the building also said: “I’m from the South Bronx. S–t happens every f–king day, man. Not much I can do about it. He’s a great guy, man. I wouldn’t expect him to do something like that.”
