The grieving mother of two sets of twins who tragically died in a house fire received an ‘angry reaction from the crowd’ when she returned home.
Logan and Leyton, aged 3, and Bryson and Kyson, aged 4, were pulled out from a house in Sutton on Thursday evening as ‘intense’ blaze swallowed their home.
Over 60 firefighters arrived at the scene and paramedics performed CPR on the children before they were taken to a hospital, where they were pronounced dead.
According to MailOnline, the young boys were alone in the house when firefighters arrived.
Speaking to the publication, a neighbor in her 40s said: “There was an angry reaction from the crowd when the mother arrived.”
Balloons and flowers were left outside the property on Saturday morning.
Scotland Yard confirmed that a 27-year-old woman had been arrested on suspicion of child neglect.
She was released on bail but will go back to a police station in south London next year, the Met Police said.
This comes after the grieving father of the children has said his family have been left ‘devastated’ by the incident.
“Myself and my family are utterly devastated by this tragic loss,” Dalton Hoath said in a statement. “They were bright, caring, loveable boys, but most of all Sons, Brothers, Grandsons, Great Grandsons, Nephews and Cousins.
“We would like to thank all the emergency services who did so much to try and save our boys, and also the local community who have come together at this difficult time.
“I would ask that my family are given time to grieve in private. They will be forever in my heart and thoughts, love Dad.”
The children’s grandfather also said that the family is ‘shattered’ by the incident. “It’s all the more heartbreaking because their presents were all piled under the tree ready for them.”
