A grieving Ukrainian mother broke down in tears over the grave she dug for her son after Russian troops killed him and took over their home.
Iryna Kostenko cried over the homemade grave of her son as she shared how Putin’s troops entered their property on March 10.
Her 27-year-old son, Oleksei, was changing tires at the garage when he was shot dead.
Speaking to BBC, the grieving mother said: “The pain is so bad. Now I’m all alone. My son was young, 27 years old. He wanted to stay alive.”
After her son was killed, Iryna was forced to leave her home as Russian troops took over it and partied, drinking rum, beer, vodka, whiskey and gin.
When she returned, the house was already destroyed by shelling. She also had to move her son’s body back home.
“I covered the grave with a blanket to protect it from the dogs. He isn’t in a coffin, I had to roll him in a carpet,” she said.
“They were in jeeps with guns. They killed him and fled. How can I talk to such morons. I want them dead.
“This is my love. My sweetheart.”
In another heartbreaking case, a wife named Tanya Nedashkivska found her husband’s lifeless body after he was captured by Russian soldiers.
The rotting body of navy officer Vasyl Ivanovych was found in a basement of a building in Bucha.
Tanya had been searching for her husband when she found his corpse, which she identified by his trousers and trainers.
“He looked mutilated, his body was cold. They turned him over a little. He had been shot in the head, mutilated, tortured,” she shared.
