The investigation into the shocking killings of three children who were strangled by their mother continues.
32-year-old Lindsay Clancy from Massachusetts strangled her three children to death before attempting to take her own life last month.
According to the reports, the mother of three may have been suffering from post-partum psychosis, a rare and serious mental disorder that may affect new moms and result in psychotic episodes.
This theory is currently being probed by investigators.
Since the brutal killings, shocking new information has also emerged. As the woman’s lawyer claims, Clancy was on a dozen different prescription drugs at the time of the incident.
The attorney also said the mother-of-three was “overwhelmed” and “overmedicated” while insisting that the use of multiple prescription drugs made her feel like a “zombie.”
“We’ve got a person who suffered grievously as a result of what possibly could be postpartum depression, postpartum psychosis,” Attorney Kevin J Reddington said, The Boston Globe reported.
The update on the case comes shortly after Reverend Bob Deehan of Duxbury Church revealed that he did the woman’s Last Rites on the day after the triple homicide when she lay in a hospital unable to walk.
The reverend also revealed he had visited the woman’s husband, Patrick Clancy, at his parents’ home to pray together.
Lindsay’s husband has since also spoken out and forgave his wife saying “the real Lindsay” was a caring and loving person.
“The real Lindsay was generously loving and caring towards everyone — me, our kids, family, friends, and her patients,” he said.
