Mourners have reportedly gathered on the streets of Boston in Lincolnshire to pay their final respects at the funeral of a young stabbing victim recently.
According to local media outlets, one-year-old Lilia was seen arriving for her final resting place inside a butterfly-covered coffin. This was placed inside a pink horse carriage as many fought back tears to say goodbye to the most precious soul.
The young victim was stabbed to death outside her mom’s embroidery shop while she happened to be doing nothing wrong, other than playing peacefully with her sister.
Tragic footage showed the coffin arriving for the funeral, covered in a print that she loved the most, butterflies.
But loved ones found it so incredibly hard to hold back tears, claiming their little girl did nothing to deserve this.
The ceremony began at about 11:30 in the morning and was held at St. Botolph’s Church. This would be followed by a burial event that would be attended by only close loved ones, sources explained.
But at the funeral, both known and unknown people gathered from all over as they felt a sort of connection with the child. Her story left many heartbroken, while some felt it was a huge security lapse on the part of the authorities for something as devastating as this to occur in the first place.
“The feelings of pain and anger are very real over here. There needs to be something done about this soon. We are all united to fight against the evils of society and we won’t back down until and unless justice is served”- he went on to continue.
Many are awaiting justice as they recalled the beautiful memories that the child left with them. “She loved to travel, dance, and try new things”- her mom explained.
