A loving wife and dedicated mother-of-two was killed in a horror home invasion on Christmas.
41-year-old Emma Lovell from North Lakes, Queensland, was fatally stabbed in the chest as she confronted home invaders who stormed her home on Christmas night.
According to the reports, both Emma and her husband, Lee, stood up to the robbers who forced their way inside their home just hours after the couple celebrated Christmas with their two daughters.
During a physical altercation between the Lovells and the invaders, the mother-of-two was stabbed in the chest while her husband suffered minor injuries.
After the attack, shocked neighbors woke up to the daughters’ screams.
“Someone help my mum, help my mum,” one child screamed at the top of her lungs according to a stunned neighbor.
The police and the paramedics eventually arrived at the family home and did their best to resuscitate the woman before rushing her to the hospital in stable condition.
Unfortunately, the mother later succumbed to her stab wounds and passed away.
“He heard all the screaming, the guy next door, to the left, rushed over and tried to help but the dad was already on the phone to the police and ambulance,” one resident told Courier Mail.
“I witnessed the ambulances trying to help the mum on the front lawn. There was stuff everywhere all over the front lawn from all the things that were left on the front lawn. The whole way it ended, it shouldn’t end up that way.”
Other neighbors sympathized with the family as they called them “excellent neighbors” and a “beautiful family.”
“We are so incredibly sorry our beautiful friends. We are truly heartbroken for your beautiful family. Thinking of you at this tragic time,” one tribute to the family read.
As the police have since confirmed, the home intruders fled on foot after injuring the couple. Though no arrests have yet been made, the authorities say four men are assisting with the investigation.
