3-year-old Rylee-Rose Peverill died in the back seat of her mother’s car back in November 2020 after her mother left her in the vehicle for at least five hours.

According to the reports, the Aussie mother, 39-year-old Laura Rose Peverill, and her new boyfriend dropped off her three other daughters at school before shopping at a local supermarket in Townsville with little Rylee.

After the trio returned to the woman’s home, Peverill and her boyfriend picked up the groceries and went inside the house. They then binged-watched Shameless on Netflix for five hours before realizing that Rylee was still buckled in her car seat.

The little girl was not found or checked until her mother embarked on an afternoon school run at nearly 3 p.m. that same day.

Rylee was discovered in a terrible condition while slumping over in her car seat. Prosecutors revealed that the child likely suffered severe headaches, convulsions, thirst, and stress in her final moments of life.

Experts also measured the temperature in the car in similar weather conditions two days later and found that the heat inside the vehicle with the trapped child likely exceeded 124°F (51°C).
