A teenage boy has been jailed for life after being found guilty of stabbing his mother to death with a hunting knife.
According to reports from local media outlets, the suspect was identified as Aaron Matthew who killed his mother named Ingrid, using a sharp weapon.
The tragic incident took place at the family’s residence in Leicester in 2021, after the suspect was taken into police custody and ordered to stand trial.
Today, he entered into a plea to manslaughter, in regards to diminished responsibility, as he was autistic, the court heard.
But the Crown Court in Leicester ordered him to serve at least six years and 226 days of community service, in addition to his lifetime jail sentence, as he was considered to be a huge risk to the community.
At the moment, the victim’s family revealed how shocked they are by the situation and are trying to move on and accept the fact that she has been murdered by their own blood.
The suspect used the hunting knife to stab his victim 80 times, making sure she was dead. After that, the 19-year-old was seen slitting the victim’s throat and then leaving her to die across the bedroom floor.
The police arrived to find the dead victim lying inside a pool of her own blood at her home after they were called in by her former partner, and the suspect’s father.
A statement was also read out in the court that mentioned during the hearing how the mother was selfless and didn’t do anything when her own son turned on her. She was regarded as the kindest, caring, and considerate person out there today.
“His impaired disability to exercise self-control is what led him to carry out the dreadful act, during the time when his mother was killed”- the court revealed.
