The horrifying aftermath of yesterday’s missile strike in Ukraine’s Odesa has taken the lives of a mother and her daughter.
According to local media reports, the giant missile is said to have targeted a residential block inside the apartment building leaving at least eight people dead and dozens injured.
Among the dead victims included the 27-year-old mother of one Valeria Hloden and her baby daughter named Kira who was just 3 months old.
Both the victims were said to be hiding inside their apartment as the loud sirens signaling danger were blasted across the city but little did they know that they would soon be killed in the brutal attack by Russian soldiers.
Valeria’s mother is also said to have died in the attack, which is said to have taken place just one day before both Russia and Ukraine celebrated the occasion of Orthodox Easter last Sunday.
The news has caused immense grief as graphic images began to circulate around social media in relevance to the incident.
Ukraine’s President Zelensky has reportedly condemned the incident and referred to the actions of Russia as the most barbaric that the world has ever witnessed in the past 80 years.
Terrifying video footage from yesterday’s attack revealed the horrors of the situation where the missile struck the residential block, causing the building to erupt into a giant fireball. Similarly, huge amounts of smoke were also witnessed erupting from the same location.
The attack has sparked great fury in the country, as many suspected that the real target was a military location but instead, went about hitting the family block, killing so many innocent civilians. Zelensky emotionally revealed how the war began when the baby was just one month old and now he’s gone, at the age of three months.
